With remorse to my Motherland!

No matter how much I love you, O mother,
Today once again I have to abandon you,
I made promises and have to keep them,
I have to find myself some place new.

Now often I see a traitor in the mirror,
every morning, night and day,
one who shrugged responsibilities and fled,
His heart made of clay.

Your sons ravaged you for years now,
still you never complain and stay mum,
your strife-torn soul bleeds my heart,
how can you stay so silent and calm?

This world is no better place, I know Mother.
I wish to return to you some day,
bridging the ocean of my heart,
I want a place in your heart to stay.
