Once again you tread those beaten lane
wrack your wounds and paint your pain
I can see the pregnant sky and storm within
But still I wait for the acid rain

I know words bore you now
and tears: a weak link
you scratch your bruises till they bleed
but its funny, your eyes do not blink

I hear you've put on weight
weight under which you bury your soul
you cover your light in the darkness of your mind
till time turns the diamond into coal

Diamond or coal or a speck of dust
doesn't matter, someday everything will rust
so plan your odyssey, I will plan mine
Time will see who first crosses the line
