A dead night and a pack of cigarette

Street light drenches my balcony
amidst roaring silence, I sit
The cigarette gives me a blank look
as I stare somewhere else

Who do you burn?
It's you who lit me, pal

why do your turn to ash?
It's what I meant to be

But you char my soul?
Isn't it what you wanted?

What's your importance in my life?
To heal your pain
and take the blame

But you will die then?
put me off if you want
I'm anyways died

Why do you say so?
once lit, without you, I'm just a stub
crushed and trampled till m mingle in dust

But you don't love me?
I burn, I die for you
And still you say so

But how can you love, when you kill me each day?
I can't meet your expectations
Don't lit me if you love me
let me be there and when you need me
just hold me tight, close to ur fingers
but don't let me burn

I don't understand you
I know you never will

Let us be as we are then
As you wish but don't question me again

The lights are out now
the dead night is dark again
silence still deafens my ears
as I lit my pal again

Oh my goodness! Simply outstanding piece of work.

Isn't this exactly how we treat our own people as well? The cigarette has no choice but to burn and be dust, but the people we burn with our attitude they simply vanish from our lives.
