Twilight days

I see frail faces
decrepit, delicate and feeble
ravaged by the blades of time
They stand, patient and stable

Thousands of sunshine, they tasted
seen a zillion twilight haze
Now they ruminate over an aging life
And soak themselves in morning blaze

They drag their feet to move
each step closer to the end
They wait to mingle in the dust
As time conspires and pretend

Some of them lived their lives
while some lives lived them
But it all seems a vicious circle
equalised by mortality in the end
